Detroit Garment Group Guild is prepared to bring Michigan’s first fashion conference to Michigan on October 3, 2013. FashionSpeak 2013, Michigan’s first conference for Detroit’s fashion industry will be held at the fashionable Madison Building in downtown Detroit. Presented by Taubman, this one-day conference will bring together nationally recognized experts in six fields crucial to the success of the fashion industry here in Michigan and across the country; each conducting a 50-minute workshop. The workshops will be all centered around one universal message:
Help those in Michigan’s fashion industry achieve success without having to uproot their businesses and move out of state. There is a vast amount of talent in Michigan’s fashion industry, and Detroit GarmentGroup Guild is poised to bolster education, provide resources and promote the successes of those in this segment.
The experts conducting the workshops come from the professions of fashion design, social media, art direction, wardrobe styling, business building, and public relations/publicity. Professionals include Project Runway alum and CFDA incubatee Daniel Vosovic, Hollywood wardrobe stylist Chelsea Von Mach, renowned art director Sam Ajluni and social media expert Michael Melfi.
Attendees will receive top-notch education, insight and advice during workshops conducted by these experts, who all have a base in Michigan. Lunch will be served and attendees can later mix and mingle with the experts at the official after party, following the conference, with fashion and accessories designers, photographers, bloggers, wardrobe stylists, fashion retailers, students, and more in the mix. More than 250 people are expected to attend.
