Presented at World MasterCard Fashion Week Toronto last Wednesday (October 23), fast fashion retailer Joe Fresh was one of the most in demand shows of the week, with a sold out crowd, and many fans left disappointed. Set to the beat of Britney Spears’ Work Bitch, models took to the runway with clean, low ponys and side-swept bangs, showing off Joe Mimran’s staples for Spring/Summer 2014, deep shades of blue and dark denim with the occasional animal and orient-inspired print thrown in. For me, it felt a bit dark for spring, with heavy fabrics in black and blue dominating the collection.

Shiny, metallic pieces were a favorite moment for me – particularly the silver jacket and black dress, below – albeit something I may have preferred to sport post-show in October rather than next season…

Best bets from the collection were crisp whites (and those adorable mini black shorts) which highlight the fresh feel of the label’s namesake for the upcoming spring season…

Guests were treated to a supermodel presence – with rising Canadian model Grace Mahary spotted on the runway in two looks – and an impressive finale finale.
