And once a year, during the Detroit Design Festival, this vibrant neighborhood shifts into overdrive for an event that is an absolute mandatory must-attend on my calendar: Light Up Livernois 2026, presented by Amazon.
As a long-time champion of Detroit’s fashion and creative economy, I’m happy to share, Light Up Livernois is almost here. The community event represents everything we love about our city. It isn’t just a street fair; it’s a masterclass in community stewardship, collaborative economic power, and raw, unfiltered Motor City talent. Light Up Livernois is an immersive, open-air celebration that highlights the intersection of independent fashion design, interior design, art, music, and entrepreneurship along the Avenue of Fashion. The event will be held July 11, 2026, Noon to 8pm stretching across Detroit’s Northwest side on the Avenue of Fashion, through Liv 7, Liv 6, and into the University District.
