French Vogue editor, Carine Roitfeld has decided to step down after ten years of exceptional work. Some have described her as the most talented editor in the industry while others spent years wondering if she would ever replace the infamous Anna Wintour. But after all this time and gossip, Roitfeld has resigned from Vogue Paris. No one knows for sure why the 56 yr old fashionista has decided to step down, the only reason given was to work on personal projects.
Roitfeld started her career as a former model who was once discovered on the street by a photographer’s assistant in Paris. She was a young 18 year old when she was discovered. She then worked as a writer and stylist at Elle magazine where she perfected her love for fashion and made a name for herself. After Elle, Roitfeld worked as a consultant for Tom Ford at Gucci and Yves St. Laurent for six years before being asked to edit Vogue in the year 2001. Roitfeld will be complete her position this January. A replacement has not yet been announced.
