One of the Midwest’s largest fashion event, the WALK Fashion Show is back for Spring 2012. This season, Ford Model Bianca Golden from America’s Next Top Model Cycles 9 & 17 will host the WALK show model casting this Saturday February 4, 2012. The Walk team is expecting over 500 hopefuls ready to rip the runway.Bianca Golden, best known for her spot on America’s Next Top Model and for her multiple appearances on the Tyra Banks show. Golden hopes to inspire local Detroit women in the fashion industry by being a positive role model for those who inspire to have a career in modeling. She is excited to share her knowledge and experience with Detroit’s fashionistas. Golden is now signed with Ford Models in Chicago, Major Model Management in New York, Fusion Model Management in South Africa, and Click Models in Boston. She also appeared on the finale of Project Runway Season 5 and has graced the pages of Essence Magazine, Cosmopolitan and The Source.
The WALK show casting will be held from 1pm-5pm at the 4731 Gallery at 4731 Grand River in Detroit, MI. Male and Female models between the ages of 16-35 are welcome. Models should bring a head shot photo or comp card and wear or bring stiletto heels for their audition.
The WALK show is in its 5th edition averaging over 500 women to each casting call and over 2,000 fashion forward show attendees from the metro Detroit area and beyond. Each year WALK donates a portion of its proceeds to various charities.
This season’s show is produced by native Detroiters Daishawn Franklin, Crystal Iced, and award-winning event producer KeKe Dillard. Mr. Franklin was just recently featured in the Detroit Free Press celebrating 9 years of producing celebrity events and concerts around metro Detroit.
WALK strives to provide a platform for locally based designers, store owners and the Detroit fashion community. The spring WALK runway fashion show will be showcased this May at the Detroit Opera House.
