A Season of Collaborations

We can’t get enough of designer collaborations this season. It first began with Prabal Gurung for Target. An amazing collection of 80 plus pieces that blossomed with picturesque florals, pretty peplums and hothouse hues. While we’re still stocking our closets with the label’s sweet separates, we’ve had to save space for a whole new crop of collections due to hit stores in just a few weeks. Check out the below and let us know which you’re most excited for.

Duro Olowu for JCPenney

Nigerian-born, London-based designer Duro Olowu is known and beloved for his vibrant prints, rainbow-bright hues and effortless silhouettes. A lawyer-turned designer and a favorite of First lady Michelle Obama, Olowu won the British Fashion Council’s New Designer award in 2005 – just a year after launching his namesake label. His JCPenney collaboration was inspired by his Spring/Summer 2013 runway collection and is boasts the same global glamour we’ve come to expect from Olowu. Prepare to fall in love with the line’s exotic shifts, expertly-tailored trenches and bold blouses, all under $100.

Available in store and at jcp.com on March 1st.

Take note ladies, JCPenney has made shopping for eveningwear an effortless task with their latest collaboration. Joining forces with Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman, the line is comprised of party-perfect pieces so chic (and affordable) you’ll have no qualms about RSVPing yes to your next event. In true Marchesa fashion, you can expect flirty frocks and red carpet-ready gowns. Aside from these timeless favorites, you’ll also discover sleek after-dark alternatives like an embellished jumpsuit, rosette bolero and sexy lace-trimmed shorts.

 DVF Loves Roxy

New York favorite, Diane von Furstenberg has teamed up with surfing legend, Roxy to create a line of swimwear that’s guaranteed to make a splash this season. Just in time for spring break, the line is a street-cool fusion of von Furstenberg’s infamous bold prints and Roxy’s sweet wave-riding silhouettes. So whether your on a board or sun-soaking in the yard this summer, you’ll want to stock up on the line’s cool coverups, beach-bound bikinis and eye-catching accessories – each ranging from $30 to $90.

Available at roxy.com and at dvf.com on March 7th.

Derek Lam for Kohl’s

Last year, Kohl’s launched DesigNation, a project in which the department store asks designers to create a destination-inspired line. As the second collaboration under this new initiative (Narcisco Rodriguez launched an Istanbul collection for the retailer last summer), Kohl’s sought out modern minimalist, Derek Lam. Stepping away from his usually sleek and clean-cut aesthetic, Lam has chosen to take on Brazil with his creations, drawing on a trip in which he visited the museums and botanical gardens of Rio de Janeiro. The results have a brilliant art-infused appeal with prints inspired by Brazilian artist Hélio Oiticica and a color palette as beautiful as the city’s beaches – think oceanic blues, sunset yellows and palm-like greens.

Available in store and at kohls.com on April 5th.
