It’s time for our favorite fashion event in the city! Fash Bash, held at the Detroit Institute of Arts will transform the museum into a fashionable party for the elite.
This year’s event will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 at 7 pm. The party will begin with an outdoor cocktail reception on the front steps of the museum, followed by the “Art of Fashion” runway show sponsored by Neiman Marcus inside the museum’s Great Hall.
To close out the night, guests will enjoy dancing and signature cocktails outside the DIA at the Lincoln Black Label after party. Proceeds from the event will benefit the FJC’s pledge of $1 million to the museum’s endowment campaign. The theme for this year’s Fash Bash will be from the Post-Modernist era idea of a “happening” which is an event meant to be considered an artful affair. The “Art of Runway Show” will consist of fall fashions from Neiman Marcus and will end with a Lincoln Black Label after party.
The Founders Junior Council (FJC) and DIA have hosted Fash Bash since 1970. Previous venues have consisted of the Pontchartrain Hotel, the State Theatre now known as The Fillmore and the Renaissance Center.
