Detroit Denim Represents Sustainable Fashion in Florence, Italy During Pitti Uomo

You had us at Pitti Uomo!

Detroit Denim, founded in 2010, will attend this summer’s Pitti Immagine Uomo, one of the world’s most regarded fashion events, June 13th – 16th, 2023 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Italy.

Detroit Denim will be representing Michigan to showcase their innovative approach to denim production, emphasizing sustainability and personalized craftsmanship.

We are also pleased to announce a collaboration between CCS x Carhartt will also be presented at the show.

“We are thrilled to be attending Pitti Uomo and representing Michigan alongside these other amazing brands. We’re eager to talk to others who are pursuing reduced-waste production models and get our name out there. We also hope to spread the message that Detroit is a great place to look if you’re interested in pursuing sustainable apparel design and manufacturing,” said Brenna Lane, co-owner
and CEO of Detroit Denim.

The other brands attending include DFN friend Ken Walker of K. Walker Collective, B.May Bags, Deviate, and Boswell Millinery. Detroit-based muralist Mike Han will bring street art elements to the show through live painting. A divine Michigan lineup to say the least.

Pitti Uomo is an internationally acclaimed trade fair for men’s fashion and lifestyle and serves as a premier platform for emerging and established designers to exhibit their newest creations. Detroit Denim will be among the approximately 800 men’s fashion, lifestyle, and gender-neutral collections. Detroit Denim is attending as a part of the special project Detroitissimi. Organized by the College for Creative Studies, Detroitissimi brings together a collective of six brands that will showcase some of the best from Michigan’s fashion community.

Detroit Denim prides itself on environmentally conscious practices. Their made-to-order model ensures that there is no waste from speculative manufacturing, and allows each pair to be customized to meet the client’s size, shape, and style preferences. Their heirloom quality jeans are handcrafted at their Westside factory and sold through their website and their Midtown storefront at 4240 Cass Ave., in Detroit, Michigan.

We are thrilled for Detroit Denim, CCS, and all of the Michigan fashion brands included in the event. We wish them a successful and memorable trip and wish them the best of luck!
