Top Reasons to Refill Your Lashes

Extensions are a great way to enhance your natural lashes, but you need to maintain them so they stay beautiful. Here’s why you should refill your lashes.

Top Reasons To Refill Your Lashes

Want beautiful, voluminous lashes without the hassle of mascara? Lash extensions are a quick, easy, and semi-permanent way to achieve a long lash look. However, lash extensions require a fair amount of maintenance to stay in good shape. To keep them looking fab, you should have them refilled every 2-3 weeks. Wondering why you should splurge on refills instead of just letting your extensions run their natural course? Here are some of the top reasons to refill your lashes regularly.

Stop the Shed

Just like the hair on your head, your eyelashes shed daily. Most people lose anywhere from 1-5 lashes a day (per eye). New lashes eventually replace these lost ones.

If the rest of your lashes have extensions attached to them, the lashes that grow back will look out of place. They’re shorter than those with extensions and, for people with colored extensions, the wrong hue.

For those that want to avoid uneven and mismatched lashes, refills are a necessity. At a refill appointment, your Lash Artist will place a new extension on any eyelashes currently lacking. You can also try and refill your lashes on your own, but we highly recommend seeing a professional instead.

Hanging on by a Thread

Have you ever had fake nails before? If so, you know the drill. As your natural nails grow, the acrylic nail movers further and further away from your cuticles, leaving an odd-looking gap.

A similar thing happens with eyelash extensions. As your natural lashes grow, the extensions move further and further from the base of your eyelids. This causes the extensions to become heavier. Heavy extensions can result in a drooping or bent lash line. During a refill, these old, burdensome extensions are removed and replaced with new ones.

Keep Your Lashes Fab

The next reason to refill your lashes is to keep them fab. You can always let your lash extensions run their course and wait for them to shed. This process usually takes around a month. But that final week or so isn’t fun (or pretty). If you’re lucky, your lashes will look a bit worse for wear. If you’re unlucky, your lashes will look like a hot mess.

Extensions exist to enhance the beauty of your natural lashes. But if you don’t take care of your extensions, they’ll deteriorate, defeating the point. If your lashes are on their last legs, head to the salon for a refill or professional removal. That is, of course, unless you want to spend a week rocking some real funky lashes.
