Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin Launches Vanderbilt & Seewald at NYFW
Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin Brings Fashion, Global Creativity and Technology to Vanderbilt Hall for House of Vanderbilt’s First Fashion Presentation and the NYFW Debut of Vanderbilt & Seewald Global Studio
Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin is bringing the family name back to the landmark with a decidedly contemporary purpose: fashion.
On September 15, 2026, Vanderbilt Costin hosts the debut House of Vanderbilt presentation in Vanderbilt Hall for NYFW. Celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, the event also marks the launch of Vanderbilt & Seewald Global Studio, a tech-forward fashion venture co-founded with Michaela Seewald.
It will also mark the first time a Vanderbilt has hosted a runway show inside the terminal her ancestors built.
The setting will bridge the Vanderbilt legacy and a new generation of designers. Latin fashion will be among the evening’s focal points, with host Mario Lopez and led by Mexican designer Lorena Saravia, whose work combines Mexican craftsmanship, feminine strength and modern luxury. Saravia will be joined by Stockholm-based Dustin Glickman of DSTN, known for the label’s “dark cowboy” aesthetic, and Paris couturier Nabil Hayari of Hayari Paris.

Their participation reflects a broader ambition behind Vanderbilt & Seewald Global Studio: using New York as a platform for international designers seeking greater access to the U.S. market. The venture combines investment and strategic guidance with media, while seeking to preserve designers’ ownership and creative control.
“America’s 250th anniversary gives us an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate where the country has been while also looking toward what comes next,” said Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, founder and CEO of House of Vanderbilt and co-founder of Vanderbilt & Seewald Global Studio. “Bringing fashion to Grand Central is deeply personal. The Vanderbilt name is part of the history of this building, but this evening is about using that history as a platform for new voices, new ideas and new opportunities.”
The runway will also serve as a demonstration of the new venture’s technology. Vanderbilt & Seewald plans to incorporate AI-enabled commerce, livestream shopping and “Click-To-Buy” runway integration, allowing the physical fashion show to connect directly with consumers beyond Vanderbilt Hall. The platform is powered in part by the creative network and technology of SohoMuse, co-founded by Vanderbilt Costin.

For Vanderbilt & Seewald Global Studio, the September presentation will be the first public expression of a model designed to take fashion beyond the traditional runway. The venture provides participating designers with access to investors and family offices, international runway opportunities, media support and technology intended to convert live fashion moments into direct-to-consumer commerce.
The result will put an old New York name behind a new premise: using the Vanderbilt legacy not simply to celebrate the past, but to provide a stage for the designers, cultures and technologies shaping what comes next.
