Best Dressed: FashionSpeak + Verge 2019

Trendsetters at FashionSpeak + Verge Bring Their Inner Style

On Friday, October 11, 2019, Detroit Garment Group took the initiative to merge their FashionSpeak conference and Verge trade show and market together, making their annual event the largest fashion event in Michigan. This one-day event not only brought together Michigan fashion designers and fashion industry experts, but also various fashion enthusiasts and students under one roof.

We spotted many unconventional styles around us and want to share the most trendy fashionistas in attendance. At each event, we feel the “Best Dressed” individuals are those who wear their clothing well and choose looks that reflect both personal style and confidence. Check out who those Best Dressed Fashionistas were at FashionSpeak + Verge 2019.

Dana Keaton
Dana Keaton

We spotted fashion designer/educator Dana Keaton flaunting her freshness, optimism, and happiness with various shades of gold paired with the right tone of dark brown. The printed silk blouse went well with her chocolate drawstring pants and slip-on sneakers. It seemed to be the right combination of ritzy fashion and effortless streetwear fashion, perfect for comfort.

Peggy Barry Bartz
Peggy Barry Bartz

Professional seamstress Peggy Barry Bartz wore a creation of her own. She wore a leopard print duster vest with a long sleeve cotton dress. Not only did she look royal, but her statement jewelry made the look iconic. To finish off this beautiful look, her smile is what glistened the most.

Shazy

Then we spotted Shazy who knew how to blend a classy, polished look with a touch of a grunge vibe. Her outfit had the right assortment of black pieces put together in conjunction with the balanced placements of studs here and there, that added more variation to her entire look. The structured jacket was a perfect fit.

Next, we spotted two young ladies who personified femininity through their fashion sense and liquid lipstick, perfectly. Jennifer Alverson wore a light coral A-line dress layered with a black leather jacket and statement necklace, topped off with a beautiful maroon toned matte lip. Kayla Drew wore a beautifully printed stole with her little black dress (LBD) from Dress Barn and black ankle-length boots.

Toni Carrow

Speaking of aesthetics, Toni Carrow wore all black wearing beautiful jewelry from Ariel Taub. The fun box clutch is from Ariel Taub as well. This outfit proves simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication. Toni sets the all-black look off with taupe suede tie-up heels.

Farnaz Golam
Farnaz Golam

Fashion Designer Farnaz Golam’s style kept her entire look subtle yet chic. Farnaz wore a silver statement necklace to add some dazzle to her black jumpsuit. Both of them were the epitome of minimalist fashion, which is what our eyes kept searching for in the event amidst the glitz galore.
